This individual must be an excellent communicator, both written and verbal.
As they will be interacting with members face-to-face, by phone, and email.
As a Real Estate Loan Officer, you will be responsible for working with members through the loan process, from the initial application to the closing and funding of the loan.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Takes and reviews applications for Home Equity loan product business.
Explaining loan programs and advising members on loan options and requirements.
Ensure completion of all loan documents, ensuring all documentation is complete and accurate and conforms to Credit Union and regulatory standards.
Completes required reports and records.
Order Appraisal, Flood, and Title.
Following up on receipt of third-party documentation and services and documentation requested from customer.
Ensure the integrity of loan decisions, escalate any issues that impact loan decisions, and update system status as necessary for review by the underwriter--ensuring that loans are processed in accordance with credit union policies and procedures.
Prepare and deliver initial disclosure, loan approvals, and closing documents.
Meets with members to explain terms and conditions and completes closings and funding Acts as members' primary point of contact throughout the loan process.
Uses written and verbal communication skills to keep members apprised of their loan status and obtain all required documentation.
Operates in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to Reg B (ECOA), Reg C, Reg X, Reg Z, and all Dodd Frank-related regulations.
Acts as a point-of-contact for members processing Conventional Mortgage Loan products with CUMA.
Partners with Community Relationship Manager and attends community events to assist in building a Home Equity portfolio.
Build and maintain relationships with Mortgage lenders to assist in growing the Home Equity portfolio.
Train to back up Consumer Loan Processors/Disbursers that are out of the office.
May be required to function as a Consumer Loan Processor/Disburser during times of high volume.
Attends and participates in meetings and committees as required Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Performance Measures:
Achieve or exceed assigned loan volume (dollars and/or numbers).
Ensure loan decisions are made and relayed to appropriate parties.
Maintain thorough knowledge of all mortgage products, rates, trends, market conditions, and related competitor products.
Ensure loan decisions comply with all applicable Federal, State, and lending regulations, policies, and procedures.
Troubleshoot and resolve member and internal inquiries in a timely and accurate manner.
Provide knowledgeable, professional, and accurate service and support to all members and associates.
Competencies/
Qualifications:
Experience Education:
Two years to five years of similar or related experience.
Currently has NMLS ID or is able to obtain NMLS ID within 30 days of hire.
(1) A two-year college degree or (2) Completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school, or (3) Completion of a specialized and extensive in-house training or apprenticeship program.
Interpersonal Skills:
In addition to normal courtesy and tact, a significant level of trust and diplomacy is required.
Work involves extensive personal contact with others and/or is usually of a personal or sensitive nature.
Work may involve motivating or influencing others.
Outside connections become essential, and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary.

This includes member needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of member satisfaction.

Physical Requirements:
Must be able to sit for extended periods of time and occasionally lift and move items up to 20 lbs.
