Summary:
The Vice President of Finance will play a crucial role in overseeing the daily operations of our finance function.
This position will be responsible for managing financial resources, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing leadership to our accounting team.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to implement strategies for financial growth and stability.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Forecast short-range and long-range cash obligations Protect credit union assets through proper accounting and internal control procedures Maintain the integrity of the general ledger Prepare month-end reports and financial statements Ensure compliance with regulations related to accounting and financial management Manage the credit union's accounting practices in accordance with GAAP, policies, and NCUA requirements Serve as the primary point of contact with service vendors Optimize finance function productivity, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness Supervise accounting staff, providing leadership and coaching Oversee member IRA accounts and SEG payrolls Administer cash disbursements and reimbursements Manage the financial function to meet strategic objectives Serve as the primary contact with external auditors Oversee payroll processing and employee benefits Coordinate mail service with USPS Attend credit union training as required Oversee data processing system operation (currently Symitar) Maintain employee benefit programs and personnel records Conduct exit interviews and oversee employee termination process Process and record Credit Union's payroll Manage ADP's Time and Attendance system for payroll interface Perform year-end reporting when necessary (W-2) Update and maintain all payroll records Other duties as assigned Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor's degree with a minimum of five years of experience in accounting or finance; or a combination of relevant education and work experience Two or more years of experience in a financial institution Two or more years of relevant supervisory or management experience Proficiency in computer systems and software, including Microsoft Office and advanced Microsoft Excel Strong analytical and mathematical skills Comprehensive knowledge of accounting principles Effective communication skills, both verbal and written Ability to work independently with integrity Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities Job Type:
