Summary:
Travelers is investing in the transformation of Business Insurance to a state of the art rate, quote and issuance system. The Senior Director is responsible for direct management of individuals that are dedicated to umbrella and excess LOB platform development, enhancement and maintenance. The Senior Director is also responsible for participating in projects dedicated to Business Insurance platform development. The incumbent will have subject matter expertise in Commercial Underwriting an//or Product within the General Liability,Umbrella and/ or Excess lines of business. They will also represent and provide leadership for Umbrella capabilities and Platform LOB strategies and work in collaboration with enterprise wide business units.
MAJOR
Responsibilities:
Team and organizational Leadership: Responsible for the development, training, coaching and recruiting of the team. This includes performance management, development plans and may include contribution to budget planning.
Business & strategy Leadership: Responsible for assisting in development of Platform strategies around Capabilities, 3rd party vendors and Business Insurance Underwriting & Product.
Works as a liaison and consultant with business partners to establish platform use strategy, platform changes and evaluation of new enhancements.
Provides thought leadership and innovative utilization to LOB capabilities
Contribute to the overall success of the Operating Model strategy
Engages with IT,Execution, Product,Actuarial and Business Unit leaders
Contributes to new product idea generation within and across business units.
Qualifications:
Typically has more than 5 years'' experience in Commercial Lines underwriting or product in multi-line or specific line of insurance (Umbrella,General Liability, Automobile and/or Professional Liability)
Prior people management experience and/or program,product or underwriting experience required.
Advanced knowledge of commercial insurance product, underwriting and/or platform.
Exceptional communication,organization,and time management skills.
Ability to build teams and leverage team to attain goals
Ability to effectively influence and work collaboratively in a cross functional and agile team oriented environment. Ability to autonomously meet or exceed established deadlines.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel,,Word and PowerPoint and overall computer navigation.
College Degree or equivalent experience.
