Overview
The Lead Systems Analyst Advanced (LSAA) has overall accountability for the construction (system analysis, configuration, and quality assurance) of the Core Benefits Administration system, for a given set of clients. The LSAA has a strong HW domain knowledge, a technical background, and is responsible for providing cost estimates, creating and approving high-level analysis, configuration, technical documentation, test plans, and coaching Lead Systems Analysts. An LSAA will be assigned to multiple clients and is also responsible for coordinating production reviews, signing off on the stability of all newly released projects into production, and ensuring the operations team fully understands how to use new functionality.
Responsibility Areas
Systems/Technical Development
Work with clients and the internal Benefits Service Manager (BSM) to discuss technical requirements, set expectations, and manage involvement in analysis activities.
Coach and develop Lead Systems Analysts both virtually and locally.
Meet with decision makers, systems owners, and end users to define business requirements and systems goals, and identify and resolve business systems issues.
Develop and execute integrated systems and testing strategy.
Review client requirements, perform gap and/or impact analysis. Delegate as appropriate, data, foundation, and systems analysis in preparation for configuration.
Provide service and systems expertise, build client-specific technical knowledge, perform impact and root cause analysis on defects, and identify high-level and complex system solutions.
Manage the delivery of the client acceptance testing process.
Support BSM and Benefits Delivery Manager (BDM) through any client issue resolution scenarios, ensure team is prioritizing correctly, and work towards a quick and satisfactory solution.
Assist in the planning, design, and development of new applications and enhancements to existing applications.
Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and develop strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems.
Operational Management
Review, inspect, and complete scope, pricing analysis and assess priority of change order requests as applicable.
Coach service-aligned analysts on quality and client-specific aspects.
Ensure smooth transition to production, review standard operating procedures, and provide training on newly released functionality.
Manage the overall deployment process.
People Management
Manages associates
Leverages the talent/resources on the team to generate results
Monitors colleague performance to ensure that results are achieved in an effective/efficient way
Conducts necessary performance management conversations with colleagues; uses tools and resources available to managers at Aon Hewitt
Educates, reinforces, and holds colleagues accountable for behaviors that support policies and guidelines (e.g., Code of Conduct, Data Privacy).

Qualifications:
Formal Education & Certification
Bachelor's degree (with preferred concentrations in Math, Actuarial Science, Finance, Computer Science, Economics, MIS) or equivalent work experience.
7-10 years related work experience
Knowledge & Experience
Excellent people management skills.
Proven experience in overseeing the direction, development, and implementation of software solutions.
Ability to translate complex client requirements/legislation into system specifications and test plans.
Excellent understanding of the organization's goals and objectives.
Direct experience with automated software and system management tools.
Experience with relational databases including DB2 and SQL.
Intermediate level experience with project based work structures and project life cycle models including the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Knowledge of database design and file management techniques.
Familiarity with and understanding of cost build worksheets.
Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.
Ability to conduct research into application development issues and products.
