JOB
Summary:
Travelers is investing in the transformation of Business Insurance to a state-of-the-art rate, quote and issuance system. The Director plays a key role in that transformation and is responsible for the strategy and utilization of the Auto and Umbrella platform to support commercial Business Insurance needs. The Director will work in a highly collaborative Agile execution environment with specialized tools and technology.They will also represent and provide leadership for Auto and/or Umbrella capabilities and Platform Line of Business (LOB) strategies and work in collaboration with enterprise-wide business units. The incumbent also initiates, develops,monitors and researches ways to improve the current platform, based on Business Unit strategies, coverage issues, emerging issues and the overall competitive and external environmental landscape. The Director is also responsible for participating in projects dedicated to Business Insurance platform development.
MAJOR
Responsibilities:
Responsible for assisting in development of Platform strategies around Capabilities; 3rd-party vendors and Business Insurance Underwriting & Product to further refine, enhance and maximize the full potential of the automated platform.
Develop and manage new platform ideas within and across business units.
Works as a liaison and consultant with business partners to establish platform use strategy, platform changes and evaluation of new enhancements.
Provides thought leadership and innovative utilization to LOB capabilities.
Contribute to the overall success of the Operating Model strategy.
Engages and works collaboratively with IT,Execution,Actuarial,Enterprise Product and Business Unit leaders.
Qualifications:
Typically has a minimum of 5 years' experience in Commercial Lines underwriting,platform and/or product in multi-line or specific line of insurance (Auto and/or Umbrella).
Exceptional quantitative reasoning and critical thinking skills.
Exceptional communication,organization and time management skills.
Strong ability to build and leverage internal and external partnerships.
Ability to effectively influence and work collaboratively in a cross functional,team-oriented environment.
Ability to work independently,meeting or exceeding established deadlines.
Strong presentation development and delivery skills;able to customize delivery to audience.
Ability to autonomously meet or exceed established deadlines.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel,Word and PowerPoint and overall computer navigation.
College Degree or equivalent experience.
